College-Level Examination Program
College Credit may me obtained by demonstrating proficiency selected subject areas by successfully completing the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).
FEES:
- A fee of $89 is charged per test, payable at Registration on the College Board / CLEP website.
- A fee of $25 is charged per test, payable to University of Nebraska at Kearney and only by check or money order.

GENERAL INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Each test consists of multiple choice questions during a 90-minute period. There are two types of CLEP tests Subject and General Examinations. The University at Kearney only recognizes and accepts Subject Examinations.
TEST RESULTS:
A score of at least 50 percentile must be earned to obtain college level credit at the University of Nebraska Kearney. Unofficial results are available immediately. Official test results are mailed back to the student within two or three weeks. Credit hours will be posted to the official transcript upon receipt of official scores and payment of transcript posting fees to the Registrar's Office.
LIMITATIONS:
A CLEP Subject Examination may not be accepted for credit at the University of Nebraska Kearney if the course:
- Is a prerequisite for courses already completed.
- Has a lower level of required proficiency.
- Involves significantly similar content to course work previously taken.
- Has been successfully completed and passing grade awarded.

GRE Cancellation/Rescheduling:
- Candidates needing to cancel or reschedule must do so four days before the first scheduled appointment date.
- Candidates who cancel within the appropriate time limit and do not wish to reschedule may receive a partial refund.
- Candidates who reschedule will be charged a rescheduling fee of $50.
- Candidates who do not cancel or reschedule within the appropriate time will forfeit the entire registration fee.
Candidates may take the GRE exam once every 21 days. Candidates cannot take the GRE exam more than five times within any 12-month period!

Internet Based Test of English Language
You currently have to register for the test directly through TOEFL at (800) 468-6335 or on their website. You can take the test once per test administration.
